An Introduction to Maëlle Guennec

My name is Maëlle Guennec. I come from a lovely place in Brittany, France. In 2020, I decided to move to England to study in the renowned European School of Osteopathy (ESO) in Kent. My love for the human body and its physiology led me to discover the wonders of this beautiful profession.

I graduated in July 2024, and I feel confident in my 2 years of experience at the ESO student clinic, where I treated numerous patients with various musculoskeletal complaints. I also trained in treating babies and pregnant women, an area in which I developed a genuine interest. Additionally, I hold a diploma in Dry Needling and Western Medical Acupuncture which enhances my holistic approach to the human body.

I enjoy using a wide variety of osteopathic techniques, such as spinal manipulation, joint mobilisation and soft tissue massage, as well as cranial and visceral approaches. I believe in a transparent and collaborative approach to treatment. I will always ensure that I gain consent and check your understanding before attempting any treatment.

My journey into Osteopathy began with a personal experience of back injury due to intense swimming and dance training. This experience, combined with the Osteopathic philosophy of “finding the health, not the disease,” shapes my practice. While a precise diagnosis is crucial for setting realistic expectations, I believe in empowering patients with education and exercises to support their recovery. A condition does not define a person, it is the individual behind the condition that motivates me daily.
