Amanda Burnham

Amanda is a Registered Osteopath at AB Osteopathy, working from the New Town Clinic, Edinburgh.

With over 15 years of clinical experience, she supports patients of all ages, with a particular interest in pregnancy, postnatal, paediatric, and family care.

Her approach draws on both structural and classical osteopathic techniques, tailored to help each individual patient, whatever their age or ability.

About Amanda

Amanda's passion for osteopathy began as a patient herself. First following a car accident, and later after a difficult pregnancy and delivery. These positive experiences inspired her to train at the London School of Osteopathy, qualifying in 2009, and have shaped the way she treats patients ever since.

She practised extensively in London before settling in Edinburgh, where she now works as part of the AB Osteopathy team. Amanda has a particular empathy for treating pregnant and postnatal patients, babies, and children, and holds postgraduate qualifications in paediatric and cranial osteopathic techniques. She finds great satisfaction in helping people get back to doing what they love.

Approach to Care

Amanda's philosophy is simple: treat the person, not the condition. She prides herself on strong palpation and diagnostic skills, providing the highest standard of hands-on therapy alongside practical aftercare advice. Every patient is different, so she draws on both structural and classical osteopathic techniques, tailoring her approach to whatever will help you most, whatever your age or ability.

Alongside hands-on treatment, Amanda uses Western medical acupuncture, kinesiology taping, and exercise rehabilitation programmes to support your recovery and help you get back on track.
