Terms & Conditions of Treatment

  1. Introduction

    1. These terms and conditions outline the basis on which AB Osteopathy provides care to patients. By booking and attending an appointment, you agree to the terms set out below.
  2. Professional Standards

    1. As registered osteopaths with the General Osteopathic Council, our osteopaths aim to carry out all assessment, diagnosis and treatment in accordance with the Osteopathic Practice Standards, which ensure all patients receive quality care and protect them from harm.
  3. Appointments and Bookings

    1. Appointments can be booked online or by contacting the clinic directly. First appointments booked online require payment at the time of booking. Please arrive in good time for your appointment to allow for a full consultation.
  4. Cancellations and Missed Appointments

    1. We ask that you provide as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment. Cancellations or missed appointments within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time will be subject to the full appointment fee. Please refer to our clinic's specific cancellation policy for full details.
  5. Consent to Treatment

    1. Before any assessment or treatment begins, your practitioner will explain what is involved and seek your informed consent. You are free to ask questions at any point, decline any part of the examination or treatment and withdraw your consent at any time during your appointment.
  6. Confidentiality and Data Protection

    1. Your personal and medical information is held securely and treated as confidential in accordance with data protection law (UK GDPR). Information will only be shared with your consent or where we are legally required to do so, such as in the case of safeguarding concerns. Further information is available in our Privacy Policy.
  7. Fees and Payment

    1. Fees are payable at the time of your appointment unless otherwise agreed. First appointments booked online require payment upfront via Stripe at the time of booking. Current fees are available on our Fees and Appointments page or on request from the clinic.
  8. Complaints Procedure

    1. We aim to provide the highest standard of care to every patient. In the unlikely event that you feel dissatisfied with the level of care you have received from us at AB Osteopathy, we would encourage you to:
      1. speak with your osteopath directly and express your concerns. We will aim to resolve this with you wherever possible; and
      2. if your concerns remain unresolved, contact the Institute of Osteopathy or the General Osteopathic Council, the professional bodies responsible for maintaining standards within the osteopathic profession. We can provide you with the relevant contact information on request.
  9. Limitation of Liability

    1. While every care is taken to provide safe and effective treatment, osteopathic treatment, like any healthcare intervention, cannot guarantee a specific outcome. Your practitioner will discuss any relevant risks with you as part of gaining your consent to treatment.
  10. Changes to These Terms

    1. AB Osteopathy may update these terms and conditions from time to time. The most current version will always be available on our website.
    2. If you have any questions about these terms, please get in touch with the clinic before your appointment.
